Her er ei anledning til å stifta nærare kjennskap til andre nordiske UH-pedmiljø ved å delta på konferansen om Ph.D-rettleiing. Fristen for presentasjon er gått ut, men det er framleis mogeleg å vera deltakar.
The conference is organized in one of the Nordic countries and held every second year.
The purpose of the conference is to offer an arena where participants are inspired, exchange experiences and thoughts regarding the supervision of PhD-students. Specifically, the aims of the conference are to:
– highlight and share experiences regarding the current development of PhD supervision.
– present and discuss new research on PhD supervision.
– jointly analyze background, present situation and the future of PhD supervision, in order to promote and strengthen postgraduate education.
– intercept and spread the ongoing conversation within PhD supervision.
Location
The conference begins with a visit to the Lerin museum, exclusively for conference participants. The conference is then held in the premises of Karlstad University, about 10min bus trip from downtown. Conference dinner will be served downtown, lunch and coffee at the University.

Researchers who are conducting or would like to conduct research that contributes to improving PhD supervision in the Nordic region,
Research leaders with extensive experience in doctoral supervision,
Decision makers / policy makers / operational managers / educational leaders (directors of studies, faculty management, research education committee) for research education.
Vi tar kontakt med nettverket for å danne ei referansegruppe for å etablere eit UH-pednettverk mellom, Sverige, Danmark og Noreg.
Styra i dei tre landa møttes i København i januar 2024 og eit felles nettverk var eit av forslaga som kom fram. Vi trur at vi har mykje til felles og kan ha stor nytte og glede av å skapa eit tettare samarbeid, for eksempel med kurs, publisering, konferansar for å nemna noko.
I fyrste omgang er tanken å søka om NORDPLUS-midlar (søknadsfrist 2.februar) for å få støtte til etablering av eit nettverk. Vi ynskjer å setta saman ei lita gruppe frå kvart land til å koma med innspel til søknaden. På bakgrunn av dette spør vi om du kunne tenke deg å vera med i ei slik gruppe. Det er i fyrste omgang snakk om å få til eit teamsmøte der vi ser på søknaden (som representantar frå dei tre styra skal skrive) og etter kvart eit felles møte med dei andre gruppene frå Sverige og Danmark. Vi ser òg for oss at kanskje desse gruppene kan ha ei rolle i oppstarten av nettverket.

Ved USN eDU, Enhet for Digitalisering og Utdanningskvalitet er det fra 01.01.25 ledig en fast stilling som førsteamanuensis/ førstelektor i universitets- og høgskolepedagogikk.
Stillingen er knyttet til USN eDU, Enhet for Digitalisering og Utdanningskvalitet, og nærmeste overordnede er Svend Andreas Horgen. Hovedarbeidssted på en av våre campus etter avtale. Reisevirksomhet mellom de åtte studiestedene må påregnes.

Hverandreundervisning er en pedagogisk praksis som lar studentene lære ved selv å undervise hverandre. Denne pedagogiske arbeidsformen legger opp til at alle studenter bytter på å undervise hele klassen i deler av den formelle undervisningsperioden. I modulen er det lagt opp til at man skal teste ut bruk av hverandreundervisning som pedagogisk arbeidsform i egen undervisning. Det er lagt opp til aktiv deltakelse med både erfaringsdeling og fremlegg av eget arbeid. Dette kan både være knyttet til gjennomføring av hverandreundervisning eller støtte i utviklingen av en plan for integrering av hverandreundervisning i egen undervisning.
Et overordnet mål er både å styrke hverandreundervisning som pedagogisk praksis, samtidig er det også relevant å delta dersom man også ønsker å forske på tematikken. Undervisere fra en rekke ulike institusjoner og utdanningsnivåer vil bli invitert inn i det faglige fellesskapet vi ønsker å lage ved å gjennomføre denne modulen. Dette inkluderer flere ulike utdanninger både i Norge og på Island.
Praktisk informasjon
Modulansvarlig/e: Rolf K. Baltzersen (OsloMet/HiØ) og Hrobjartur Arnasson (University of Iceland – Shool of Education).
Opptakskrav: Ingen. Det er allikevel en stor fordel dersom man har undervisning i løpet av undervisningsåret som kan kobles til hverandreundervisning, evt. beslektede aktiviteter som for eksempel muntlige presentasjoner, samarbeidslæring i mindre grupper eller videopresentasjoner.
Deltakere: Både undervisere i høyere utdanning og lærere som jobber i skolen.
Omfang: 20 timer.
Organisering: 4 digitale samlinger (webinarer) på 1-2 timer pr. samling.
Candidates for the positions are expected to develop a research agenda related to teaching and learning in higher education, and of relevance for the needs of IPED and LINK.

6th Annual Philosophy and Theory of Higher Education Conference

Welcome to Trondheim in June!
In June academics from all of the world meet in Trondheim, joined in thinking, deliberation, imagination and dialogue on the foundational questions of higher education – across history, culture and context. We hope to see you there!
This year’s conference – Higher Education Brought to Life – bring people together to confer in the most human sense; to come together for three days to play with philosophical ideas and to theorise on higher education as we know it and as we aspire it to be – in engaging formats, bringing some of the core practices of the university to life. On the second day we will come together in three different «tracks» – CULTURE (time and body), NATURE (space and place) and COMMUNITY (of difference), and work collectively with the unique, multivoiced compilation of short essays authored for the conference book.
Keynote 1 – 11 June: Theorizing Education with Pädagogik
Marit Honerød Hoveid, Norwegian University of Science and Technology
By following some of the history of Pädagogik one can re-discover a rich theorizing of the central phenomena of education. Finding and doing distinctions related to education internationally is difficult due to the intertwining of concepts, interpretations and understandings in their cultural embeddedness. Theorizing higher education, however, opens the means for asking fundamental questions related to teaching and learning in higher education and to problematize what higher education is for. Through my keynote I hope to open for a discussion about education beyond understandings of its obvious practices – into the phenomena constituting ‘Pädagogik’ in higher education.
Keynote 2 – 13 June: Experimental collective commitments in restoring life to higher education
Ramsey Affifi, University of Edinburgh & Jakub Krzeski, Nicolaus Copernicus University
The second keynote for the PaTHES Conference 2024 advocates for a reimagined role of critique in academia, emphasizing its place in collective action and shared commitments to revitalize higher education. Through a conversational dialogue, Jakub and Ramsey explore how, despite better intentions, academics’ work often reproduces deadening academic practices and cultures. In particular, the authors explore the paradoxical nature of critique, acknowledging it often creates division and distraction, but how it also has potential for renewing life to higher education. Hence the keynote includes an interactive component, during which participants are urged to reflect on their complicity in the current state of academia and to redeploy critique into creating «experimental collective commitments”. This approach aims to foster a culture of collaboration and renewal, empowering attendees to shape the future of academia through meaningful engagement, built on the encounters during the conference.
Symposium – 11 June: Philosophy and Theory of Higher Education
How to understand philosophy and theory within our broad and heterogenous field of study of philosophy and theory of higher education?
Sean Sturm(University of Auckland), Maria Ahmad (University of Auckland) and Yanzhen Zhu (University of Hong Kong) will help us bring different voices from our community together to open up this theme and invite discussion, perhaps relating to the greater theme of the conference “Higher Education Brought to Life” or to discuss disciplinary or interpretive distinctions, traditions, or regional and cultural approaches.
